| As you know, wildfires have devastated our communities this month. First responders have been working day and night to contain these fires, and thanks to their tireless efforts, most of the active wildfires are close to being contained. As we begin the process of recovering and rebuilding, I wanted to share with you some resources and information that affected residents may be able to take advantage of to help put their lives back in order: Local Assistance Centers Lake and Yuba counties have opened Local Assistance Centers that serve as a one-stop-shop for disaster victims to sign up for assistance and get their questions answered about the recovery efforts. Below is a list of Local Assistance Centers in the Third District:

Residents can apply for Individual Assistance from FEMA by visiting www.DisasterAssistance.gov , or by calling the registration hotline at 1-800-621-3362. Residents who have a speech or hearing disability and use TTY can call 1-800-462-7585. Those who use 711 or Video Relay Service (VRS) can call 1-800-621-3362. Before you apply for FEMA assistance, you should familiarize yourself with the application process and prepare information you will need to provide in order to qualify for assistance. Farm Service Agency Residents who suffered losses to their livestock as a result of the fires can receive support from the Farm Service Agency. Livestock losses must be documented with at least photographic proof for individuals to be eligible for assistance.
