The November meeting of the Lake County Democratic Club had another popular pot-luck dinner, followed by a speaker. The potluck was at 5:30 p.m. and the meeting was at 6:30 p.m.
The Democratic Club meetings are on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm in the Social Hall of the Methodist Church, located at 16255 Second Street, Lower Lake CA. 95457.
The speaker was Sandra Lowe, Senior Strategist for the California Democratic Party, and regional representative on the Democratic National Committee.
She discussed DNC strategies for 2018 and why the tag line “A Better Deal” has been adopted. She also cover hot races and issues the CDP is focusing on, and how grass roots organizations like ours fit in the whole scheme.
As Senior Strategist for the CDP, Lowe is responsible for advising the chair on matters related to campaigns, messaging, communications and internal structures.
Lowe graduated with honors from U.C. Berkeley and holds teaching credentials in Mathematics and Social Science. She taught high school and middle school mathematics in both rural and big city public schools. Lowe also served as the Political Organizer for California Teachers Association in the Bay area and worked as the Assistant Manager for Political Action in the Governmental Relations division of the CTA, where she analyzed the legislative races, conducted opinion polling and organized field operations.
